Caring for your tree
At Christmas Trees of Hammond Park, we take pride in providing durable real Christmas trees that can last for more than 3-4 weeks after being cut. Our pinus radiata variety trees are well-suited to our hot summer climate, allowing you to enjoy a fresh and resilient tree throughout the festive season.
Our trees are harvest only the afternoon before arriving at the market, to insure you have the most freshest tree in your home.
When your tree is cut on our farm, sap will form around the base of the trunk, this will prevent the tree from absorbing water when you get home. It is important to cut 2cm from the trunk to remove the sap before setting up the tree.
We recommened hosing the tree down with water to remove any bugs or loose needles.
Place your tree in a tree stand and fill it up with water. The first day your tree will drink 2-3 litres of water so you must always check your trees water level. It is important not to let the tree run out of water as the trunk will seal itself with sap, preventing further absorption.
We recommened placing your tree in a cool area of the home away from direct sunlight if possible.
